From what I have gathered America is getting together to Burn the Quran as a demonstration and here is a quote from one of the coordinators:
We believe that Islam is of the devil, that it's causing billions of people to go to hell, it is a deceptive religion, it is a violent religion and that is proven many, many times," Pastor Terry Jones told CNN's Rick Sanchez earlier this week.
So to sum things up, as a devout traditionalist diva, I am planning on Spending my ninth anniversary of 9/11 with my fellow Americans at one of the local book burnings. Anybody else here getting involved this cause?""
"Wait, you're going to be INVOLVED in the book burning?
Thinking about it but I'm not sure if I'm committed to the idea yet. Was thinking about going to the local water park on 9/11 as well. Might end up being decided by the weather.
You are a horrible person, at least a druggie wouldn't offend millions of innocent people, knowing only a small percentage of those people are bad.
A druggie in my mind is worse. Their actions end up having them, in an inebriated state, dosing off at the wheel of a car and committing a veritable laundry list of other crimes. Did you know most felonies for instance are committed under the influence? Anyways as I think about the mosque at ground zero being built, I can not imagine why not have a demonstration to show that we are against such an insensitive act. I mean they are free to practice but they should do it in a way that doesn't offend like building a headquarter at a place a couple of Muslim extremists committed the second largest terrorist act in American history.
I thought this was going to be a normal topic in which the TC would feel bad about such a horrible thing happening.
Its a book, it hurts nobody by burning it. But it does get religious Americans together which is good. Religions should not preach any but their own. Its not like they are burning Muslims, they are burning paper. Muslims went nuts when South Park was gonna air Muhammad and threatened the creators, the killed the cartoonists who drew Muhammad, and now the Ground Zero Mosque. These actions are not ok and a peaceful demonstration to point out such acts seems fine to me.
Same. I don't know what religion you are, but if it says to burn other religions book and make them miserable, then your religion must be as violent as you think theirs is.
Christrians are doing nothing violent here. Here are Quran quotes:
The Quran in Sura 4:24 says:
And forbidden to you are wedded wives of other people except those who have fallen in your hands (dictating woman as sex slaves)
The Quran in Sura 2:228 says:
. . . Wives have the same rights as the husbands have on them in accordance with the generally known principles. Of course, men are a degree above them in status . (Men are better than woman)
And when We desire to destroy a city, WE COMMAND its men who live at ease, AND THEY COMMIT UNGODLINESS therein, then the Word is realized against it, and We destroy it utterly. S. 17:16 (The Quran even directly calls violence towards all who are nonbelievers of Allah here in a quote in the scripture you think is wrong to burn)"
You are a pathetic, racist ASS. I hope this is just you trying to troll everyone, because if this is what you really believe, I feel sorry for you, and everyone who knows you.
Other quotes:
John
"How does anyone ever end up in a situation where then need to decide between a water-park and a book burning?
And you know, terrorists aren't specifically "The Muslims." That's like saying all Christians are like you, or Shirley Phelps Roper."
Murmur
"Quite frankly, this entire scenario has highlighted so many things I dislike.
The arrogance and narrow-mindedness of the Pastor, the ease with which the Islam community is roused to violence, the pissing contests, the way the world is fascinated with things that are of no importance.
I'm glad it's over but I'm disappointed the Pastor backed down. If you're going to set up a showdown like that, don't chicken out on it. That's just poor form."
